I am Lusiana — a student from Albania who moved to Germany six years ago with just a suitcase and without knowing that was going to build a new life — and with this campaign, I hope to create something that can help others going through the same journey so they don’t have to go through it completely alone.

Starting over in a new country sounds brave and exciting. And in many ways, it truly is. Between studying and having to work for my living, it has given me opportunities, growth, and experiences I will always be grateful for.

But what people don’t see are the quiet moments along the way and the ones that make you want to give up.

The loneliness in your small room.

The fear of speaking because you’re unsure of your language knowledge.

The feeling of not always being understood.… and at some point having two places you both call home but never fully home in one of them.

You try to be strong. You tell your family back home that everything is fine.

But inside, you are overwhelmed and sometimes, you just wish you didn’t have to be strong all the time. Sometimes you wish you had someone who truly understands.

And you are not alone.

Thousands of international students arrive in Germany every year full of ambition and ready to learn new stuff — but often without guidance or support, and without someone who understands what it means to rebuild your life in a new country.

I know this feeling because I lived it. And so do many others — we just have to find each other.

That’s why I created Lusi’s Diary and The Podcast.

Not just as an Instagram channel, but as a safe space where people share their stories and experiences as international students, and find each other.

A community that sees you, understands you, and reminds you: you can do this.

Through honest stories, practical tips, and real experiences, I want — together with this community — to make the path a little less lonely and easier for those who need it the most.
