Für das Projekt "It's all forgotten now - A Mixtape für Mark Fisher" der Berliner "Company Christoph Winkler" hat die Initiative Dance Revolution East Africa (DREA) mit Kindern des Stadtteils Nabulagala (Kampala, Uganda) Filmaufnahmen realisiert. Viele von ihnen nehmen an Tanzunterricht des künstlerischen Leiter des Projektes Robert Ssempijja teil. Mit diesem Spendenaufruf möchten wir sicherstellen, dass dieser Unterricht für sie kostenlos bleibt. Deshalb haben wir uns gemeinsam mit dem Theater "Sophiensaele" entschieden alle Videos des Projektes kostenlos zur Verfügung zu stellen und bitten Sie daher um eine Spende für die "Kids of Nabulagala".

Dance Revolution East Africa (DREA) wurde 2015 ins Leben gerufen. Das Ziel der DREA ist ein dreifaches: (1) die Entwicklung von Kooperationen zwischen Tänzerinnen und Tänzern innerhalb Ostafrikas, (2) die Initiierung und Pflege von Kooperationen zwischen ostafrikanischen und internationalen Tänzer*innen und (3) die Verbesserung des Zugangs des Publikums zum Tanz in Ostafrika durch die Überbrückung der Kluft zwischen unterversorgten Tänzern und wohlhabenden Zuschauern. In diesem Sinne hofft die DREA, innerhalb Ostafrikas eine Plattform zu schaffen, auf der Tänzer*innen ihre Fähigkeiten austauschen und weiterentwickeln, sich gegenseitig inspirieren und aufstrebende Tänzer*innen unterstützen können.

For the project "It's all forgotten now - A Mixtape for Mark Fisher" of the Berlin "Company Christoph Winkler", the initiative Dance Revolution East Africa (DREA) recorded films with children of the Nabulagala (Kampala, Uganda) district. Many of them take regularly part in dance lessons by the artistic director of the project Robert Ssempijja. With this appeal for donations we want to make sure that these classes can remain free of charge for them. Therefore we decided together with the theatre "Sophiensaele" to make all videos of the project available for free and to this purpose we kindly ask you for a donation for the "Kids of Nabulagala".

Dance Revolution East Africa (DREA) has been established in 2015. DREA’s goal is threefold: (1) to develop collaborations between dancers within East Africa, (2) to initiate and nurture collaborations between East African and international dancers, and (3) to increase audience access to dance in East Africa by bridging the gap between underserved dancers and affluent audiences. With this in mind, DREA hopes to create a platform within East Africa where dancers can share and develop their skills, inspire each other and support emerging dancers.
