EL HIJO DEL PUEBLO. LA LUCHA POR EL AGUA LA TIERRA Y LA DIGNIDAD.
Synopsis:
In the heights of the Peruvian Andes, a name echoes like a cry for justice: Óscar Mollohuanca. Leader of Espinar - Cusco, defender of human rights, water and land, his struggle brought him into conflict with political power, large-scale mining companies and political persecution. Twice mayor of Espinar, he was criminalised, imprisoned and finally murdered in suspicious circumstances. My friend and comrade in the struggle. But there are voices that do not die. From Madrid, I return to my roots to tell his story, which is also the story of our community. Through unpublished testimonies and hidden archives, I reconstruct the life of a man who challenged power and whose legacy continues to burn like embers in the memory of his people. This documentary is not only a tribute: it is a cry of resistance that portrays Óscar Mollohuanca not only as the leader who embodied the heartbeat of a rebellion still alive in the southern, but also as the human being behind the activist. Through an intimate look and a journey through his political legacy, the film explores the risks of confronting power, the personal wounds left by that struggle, and what sustains those who decide not to give up, even when fear is constant and the road is lonely.
