wir sind Natalie und Lena und sammeln Spenden für Kinder aus dem Korogocho-Slum. Im Rahmen unseres Studiums der Sozialen Arbeit machen wir ein Praxissemester in Nairobi, Kenia. Wir arbeiten im Ufanisi-Center, einer Schule mit 80 Kindern im Alter von 3-14 Jahren.

Offiziell ist der Schulbesuch in Kenia kostenlos, für Unterrichtsmaterialien, Schulbücher sowie Schulkleidung müssen die Eltern jedoch selbst aufkommen. Dies können sich viele Familien nicht leisten. Im Ufanisi-Center spitzen die Kinder ihre Bleistifte, wenn sie welche haben, mit alten Rasierklingen an und spielen in den Pausen mit Plastikmüll auf der Straße. Mit deiner Spende wollen wir Schulmaterialien, Bücher und Spielzeuge für die Kinder finanzieren.

Außerdem sind aufgrund fehlender staatlicher Unterstützung sanitäre Anlagen und Klassenräume im Ufanisi-Center nur mangelhaft eingerichtet. Für die kleinsten Kinder des Centers ist es besonders wichtig, sich nachmittags erholen zu können. Da es keine Matratzen gibt, schlafen die Kinder im Klassenraum auf dem Boden. Mit deiner Spende möchten wir einen bisher ungenutzten Raum als sicheren Erholungsort für die Kinder gestalten. Des Weiteren wollen wir die sanitären Anlagen mit Seifenspendern ausstatten, damit die Kinder die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Hände vor den Mahlzeiten vernünftig zu waschen.

Vielen Kindern im Korogocho-Slum fehlt es an gesunder und ausgewogener Ernährung. Mit deiner Spende möchten wir den Kindern wöchentlich Obst und Gemüse zur Verfügung stellen.

Anstatt auf einem sicheren Schulhof spielen die Kinder des Ufanisi-Centers in ihren Pausen auf der Straße vor dem Schulgebäude. Mit deiner Spende können wir ein anliegendes Grundstück kaufen und den Kindern ein sicheres Außengelände schaffen.

we are Natalie and Lena and we are collecting donations for children from the Korogocho slum. As part of our social work studies, we are doing an internship semester in Nairobi, Kenya. We are working at the Ufanisi Center, a school with 80 children aged 3-14.

Officially, school attendance in Kenya is free of charge, but parents have to pay for teaching materials, school books and school clothing themselves. Many families cannot afford this. In the Ufanisi Center, the children sharpen their pencils, if they have any, with old razor blades and play with plastic waste on the street during breaks. With your donation we want to finance school materials, books and toys for the children.

In addition, due to a lack of government support, sanitary facilities and classrooms at the Ufanisi Center are poorly equipped. For the smallest children of the center it is especially important to be able to rest in the afternoon. Since there are no mattresses, the children sleep on the floor in the classroom. With your donation we would like to make a previously unused room a safe place for the children to rest. Furthermore, we want to equip the sanitary facilities with soap dispensers so that the children have the possibility to wash their hands properly before meals.

Many children in the Korogocho slum lack healthy and balanced nutrition. With your donation, we would like to provide fruit and vegetables to the children on a weekly basis.

Instead of playing in a safe schoolyard, the children of the Ufanisi Center play on the street in front of the school building during their breaks. With your donation, we would like to buy an adjacent property to create a safe outdoor area for the children.
