Hallo, es freut mich sehr, dass du den Weg auf meine Spendenseite gefunden hast! Zuerst möchte ich mich kurz vorstellen. Mein Name ist Milena, ich bin momentan 20 Jahre alt und wohne im Südwesten Deutschlands. Nachdem ich 2018 mein Abitur gemacht habe, war ich schon viel in der Welt unterwegs, zum Beispiel in den USA, Griechenland und Indien. Ab Ende Juli 2019 möchte ich einen einjährigen Weltwärts-Freiwilligendienst in Quito, Ecuador, in der Bildungs- und Rehabilitationseinrichtung "Fundación Esperanza" machen. Diese Einrichtung setzt sich zum Ziel, Kinder und junge Erwachsene mit verschiedenen Behinderungen in ihrer integralen Entwicklung zu fördern. Um die Arbeit der Fundación zu unterstützen, benötige ich deine Hilfe. Allgemeines Ziel eines Weltwärts-Freiwilligendienstes ist es, einen interkulturellen Austausch zu ermöglichen und dadurch ein verantwortungsbewusstes globales Denken und Handeln nachhaltig zu fördern. Von einem Freiwilligendienst sollen sowohl die Menschen in den Ländern des Globalen Südens, als auch die Freiwilligen selbst profitieren. Angestrebt wird also keine Entwicklungshilfe, sondern eine Entwicklungskooperation, das heißt eine Begegnung auf Augenhöhe. Da die Freiwilligen während und nach ihrem Freiwilligendienst in ihrem Heimatland eine Multiplikatorenfunktion einnehmen, werden auch in ihrem sozialen Umfeld und allgemein in der westlichen Gesellschaft Vorurteile abgebaut und ein angemessenes Bewusstsein der Nord-Süd-Diskrepanz erzeugt. Mir persönlich liegen Kinder sehr am Herzen und ich hoffe, dass ich in der "Fundación Esperanza" in Quito meine eigenen Ideen verwirklichen und die Einrichtung dadurch bereichern und sinnvoll unterstützen kann. Außerdem erhoffe ich mir spannende und lehrreiche Erfahrungen, die meinen Horizont erweitern, sowie die Verbesserung meiner Spanischkenntnisse. Da Weltwärts-Freiwilligendienste staatlich gefördert sind, ist ein großer Teil der Kosten für meinen Freiwilligendienst bereits vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung gedeckt, jedoch bleibt ein Teil übrig, der von der jeweiligen Entsendeorganisation gezahlt werden muss. Meine Entsendeorganisation ist die "Ecuador Connection", ein kleiner, 2003 gegründeter Verein, der jedes Jahr bis zu acht Freiwillige in zwei ecuadorianische Partnerprojekte entsendet. Ziel der Ecuador Connection ist die Förderung von Bildung, Erziehung und Integration. Da es insbesondere für einen kleinen Verein schwierig ist, den Kostenanteil für die Durchführung der Freiwilligendienste zu stemmen, bitte ich dich um eine Spende an die Ecuador Connection. Ich sammele die Spenden zuerst privat und leite sie dann an den Verein weiter. Falls eine Spendenbescheinigung gewünscht ist, kann diese von der Ecuador Connection ausgestellt werden. First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Milena, I'm currently 20 years old and I live in Southwest Germany. After graduating high school in 2018, I've already travelled to a lot of places, for example the United States, Greece and India. In the end of July 2019, I'd like to go to Quito, Ecuador for a year with the organization "Weltwärts" to volunteer at the education and rehabilitation center "Fundación Esperanza". The goal of the Fundación Esperanza is to care for children and young adults with disabilities of different kinds and to foster them in their integral development. In order to support their work, I need your help. The general goal of the "Weltwärts" volunteer program is to enable cultural exchange and to sustainably foster responsible thinking and acting in a globalized world. People living in the countries of the Global South as well as the volunteers themselves should benefit from the program. It does not strive for developmental aid but for developmental cooperation, meaning an encounter on eye level. Since the volunteers take up a so called "multiplication function" in their home country during and after their year abroad, common predispositions about the countries in the Global South can be reduced. Additionally, a proper knowledge of the differences between living conditions in the Northern and the Southern hemisphere can be established in the social environment of the volunteers as well as in the Western society in general. I personally love children very much and I hope that in the "Fundación Esperanza", I will be able to put my project ideas into practice and to enrich and support the foundation in a meaningful way. Furthermore, I hope for exciting and educational experiences that widen my personal horizon as well as for the improvement of my Spanish language skills. The "Weltwärts" program is funded by the state of Germany, so a large part of the cost of my year abroad is already covered by the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, but there is still a small part left that has to be paid by the respective organization that places the volunteer into a specific project. The organization that sends me to Ecuador is called "Ecuador Connection". The Ecuador Connection is a small organization that was founded in 2003 and places up to eight volunteers into two partner projects in Ecuador every year. The goal of the Ecuador Connection is to promote education and integration. Since it's especially difficult for a small organization to deal with the cost share for all its volunteers, I request your donation to the Ecuador Connection.
