Who We Are

We are Berlin Neurodivergent Community, a volunteer-run, neurodivergent-led, non-profit community created for and by neurodivergent people (ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, etc). Our gatherings focus on connection, support, and empowerment—through shared activities, sharing circles, creative projects, and workshops. Our initiatives include cultural events to raise awareness, such as NeuroCinema, Germany's first neurodivergent film festival.

The goal of our crowdfunding

We are raising funds to sustain our free events and to formally establish ourselves as a non-profit association (Verein). This crucial step will unlock access to public fundings, empowering us to eventually create a permanent community space—a neurodivergent-led sanctuary to eliminate the barriers of inaccessible public venues.

Why we need your help

Our free events are funded solely by community donations. While we are grateful for this support, the model is unsustainable, with organizers frequently paying out-of-pocket.

Your help does three critical things:

1. Finances Our Current Events: Your donation directly covers the costs of our existing free programs, ensuring they can continue without barriers.
2. Funds Our Legalization: We are working to become a formal non-profit (e.V.). This legal status is the key to unlocking access to public grants and stable funding, which are currently unavailable to us.
3. The foundation toward building our community space: As neurodivergent individuals, we have specific needs that most public spaces aren't designed for us:

• Sensory Overload: From uncontrolled noise, lights, and crowds.
• Cost: Many venues require a minimum purchase, excluding those who can't afford it.

2. Accessible & Inclusive: We operate on a donation model to ensure everyone can participate, regardless of economic means.

How Your Donation Will Be Used (€3,000 Goal):

• €2,000: Verein Legal & registration fees (highest expense assumption).
• €262: Critical admin costs (6 months of Meetup & website fees).
• €80: FilmFreeway subscription for our Neurocinema Festival.
• €658: Materials and operational fee for community events.

👉 To reduce the Verein's legalization costs, we will pursue pro bono legal help and solicit community support.

👉 Any surplus funds will be directed to our most urgent needs, ensuring every euro supports the community.
