Als Inhaberin der Agentur für Katzensitting Miez&Maunz in München, erlebe ich jeden Tag wie sich unsere Kunden liebevoll und verantwortungsbewußt um ihre Stubentiger kümmern. Natürlich ist das nicht überall so. Missständen begegnet man weltweit und natürlich auch noch hier in Deutschland. Ich, als Privatperson, aber auch mit der Agentur Miez&Maunz, möchte mich gerne für verschiedene Tierschutzprojekte einsetzen und werde dafür auch einen Verein gründen. Leider wird der Verein für unser erstes Projekt im April noch nicht bestehen und deshalb wird es noch komplett privat organisiert. Unser erster Einsatz wird im April 2019 auf Jamaika stattfinden. Spontan denkt man an Reggae, Palmen, Sonne, Meer und Bob Marley. Traumhafte Kulisse, aber auch dort brauchen die Vierbeiner dringend Hilfe. Ich habe einige Zeit auf Jamaika gelebt und selber mitbekommen, dass Katzen auf Jamaika leider keine große Lobby haben. Die Population steigt rasant und die Methoden der Bevölkerung dagegen anzugehen sind zum Teil sehr fragwürdig. Natürlich gibt es auch dort staatliche Projekte, Unterstützung von internationale Organisationen, aber das reicht noch nicht. Durch den persönlichen Bezug, war meine Entscheidung schnell klar- unser erstes Projekt wird auf Jamaika stattfinden. Also fliegen im April 2019 drei Tierärzte und etlichen Helfer nach Jamaika und werden eine Woche lang streunende Katzen einfangen und kastrieren. Selbstverständlich passiert das alles ehrenamtlich und die Kosten werden von jedem Teilnehmer selbst getragen. Auf Jamaika werden wir von lokalen Tierschutzorganisation und von zwei weiteren Tierärzten unterstützt. Wir können also einiges schaffen! Viele Mails, Telefonate und etliche Dokumente für die jamaikanischen Behörden waren der organisatorische Anfang. Jetzt wird noch ein Teil des Geld für die Medikamente benötigt. Die Medikamente werden auf Jamaika gekauft, da die Einfuhr äußerst kompliziert wäre. Die Kosten für die Medikamente belaufen sich auf ca. 1.300 €. Die Agentur Miez&Maunz wird davon 500 € übernehmen und ich hoffe sehr, das wir die Differenz auch noch schaffen. Unfortunately, this is not the case everywhere. We see abuse and negligence worldwide and sadly Germany is no exception. I, as a private person but also with the agency Miez&Mauz feel the need to get involved and support various animal protection and welfare projects and for this purpose I am in the process of establishing an association. This will, however, take some time yet and so the association will not have been established by April in time for our first project and it will therefore have to be completely privately organized. Our first project will start in Jamaica in April 2019. Jamaica spontaneously evokes memories of reggae, palm trees, beaches and Bob Marley. A magnificent backdrop but against such beauty our four-legged friends there too need help urgently. Having spent quite some time in Jamaica myself I saw with my own eyes that cats do not have a strong lobby in Jamaica. The cat population is growing rapidly, and the methods used to cope with this are often questionably. Of course there are also state-supported projects and support from international organizations but that’s not enough. My own concerns quickly led to the decision that our first project would be in Jamaica. So three vets and a number of helpers will set off in April 2019 to catch and castrate straying cats. All this will happen on a voluntary basis and each participant will bear their own expenses. On Jamaica we will receive support from local animal protection organizations and two additional vets. So we will be able to achieve quite a lot together. The organizational start were numerous emails, phone calls and the exchange of many documents for the Jamaican authorities. Now there is still the need for part of the money required for medication. Medication will be purchased in Jamaica since the import would be rather complicated. The costs for medication amount to approx. €1,300. The agency Miez&Maunz will contribute €500 and we are hoping that we will manage the remaining difference, too. Maybe we can inspire you too, to show some heart and support for these lovely Reggae cats by donating a few Euros to this worthwhile project.
