Hallo! Ich bin Ellena Piecha, 14 Jahre alt, und ich lebe in Petershagen. Seit ich denken kann, liebe ich das Segeln. Schon mit drei Monaten war ich das erste Mal auf einem Segelboot, und seit ich sechs Jahre alt bin, segle ich im Segelclub Flakensee. Jetzt habe ich die unglaubliche Chance, an einer sechsmonatigen Segelreise mit dem Ocean College teilzunehmen. Die Reise beginnt im Oktober 2025 und führt uns entlang der Westküste Europas, über die Kanarischen Inseln bis in die Karibik, Mittelamerika und über die Azoren wieder zurück. Während dieser Zeit haben wir Unterricht an Bord, sodass wir danach direkt in der Schule einsteigen kann. Aber der Unterricht ist mit praktischen Themen verknüpft, z.B. die Physik des Segelns oder auf den Spuren von Kolumbus. Ich habe in den letzten Jahren schon so viel auf dem Wasser gelernt. Diese Reise mit dem Ocean College ist die perfekte Gelegenheit, meine Fähigkeiten weiter auszubauen und mich neuen Herausforderungen zu stellen. Wir werden viele neue Länder und Kulturen entdecken, und ich freue mich darauf, meine Sprachkenntnisse zu erweitern und von Menschen aus aller Welt zu lernen. Der Austausch mit anderen Jugendlichen auf dem Boot und in fremden Ländern ist für mich eine einmalige Chance. Diese Reise ist ein großer Traum, aber sie ist auch mit Kosten verbunden – Auch wenn ich bereits durch Familie und Freunde viel Unterstützung erhalte, bleibt noch eine Finanzlücke von 7.000€. Mit eurer Hilfe kann ich meinen Traum verwirklichen – eine sechsmonatige Reise, die mir nicht nur als Seglerin, sondern auch als Person unendlich viel geben wird. Zusammen können wir das schaffen! Hello!

I'm Ellena, 14 years old, and I live in Petershagen. For as long as I can remember, I have loved sailing. I was on a sailboat for the first time when I was just three months old, and since the age of six, I have been sailing at the Flakensee Sailing Club.

Now, I have the incredible opportunity to take part in a six-month sailing journey with Ocean College. The journey starts in October 2025 and will take us along the west coast of Europe, across the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, Central America and on the way back the Azores. During this time, we will have lessons on board, allowing us to continue our studies seamlessly when we return to school. However, the lessons are linked to practical topics, such as the physics of sailing or following in the footsteps of Columbus.

Over the past few years, I have already learned so much on the water. This journey with Ocean College is the perfect opportunity for me to further develop my skills and take on new challenges. We will explore many new countries and cultures, and I am excited to improve my language skills and learn from people around the world. The exchange with other young people on the boat and in foreign countries is a unique opportunity for me.

This journey is a big dream, but it also comes with costs. Even though I have already received a lot of support from family and friends, there is still a financial gap of €7,000.
