CROWDFUNDING CALL & VIRTUAL MEETING MILONGA POPULAR Dear friends of Tango Kollektiv, the spread of Corona Virus is a big crisis for the world and has brought our project of Tango to an indefined halt. Social distancing is what is needed now and it is of course the opposite of what we do in Tango: searching the closeness to each other. We hope that this crisis wont last long, but we have to be honest: this could be just the beginning of a Corona Winter, that we just entered. In this times of crisis, the world needs solidarity, mindfulness and responsible acting. We need to care of each other, and especially for the weakest parts of the society. With this call want to ask you for your support: First we want you to help the poorest and neediest people hit by Corona. In India the Virus ist just arriving, and also in a lot of other poor countries with a weak public health system. Uncertain numbers of lives are in danger. This people need our help at most, so we want to ask you to help by a donation to „Doctors beyond Borders“: This organization is on the road to the worldwide regions with heaviest health crisis, and this people will need our help in the coming months! Second we want you to help us and our infrastructure as Tango-Organizers hit by Corona Shut-Down. We support fully the public shut down and responsible acting. Also we know, that not only us, but lot of you are and will be hit by the economic follow-up of the Corona-Winter. We as Milonga Popular loose our weekly income, but we are still in the happy position, that we are not bound to heavy fix-costs like the Clubs or Tango-Schools. We have this luxury because we were hosted for years under very generous conditions by our beloved Freudenzimmer. We hope that there will be public funds to support institutions like Freudenzimmer to manage this crisis, but we cannot wait for that. So the first priority of our call for crowdfunding is to support Freundenzimmer to survive the coming weeks and months, and the first 1000 Euro of your donations will go directly to the managers Stephan and Jessica. If there is more money, we will use that to pay our Team, that also based its living costs on the income we had with Milonga Popular and the wednesday class. We miss you all and we have to find solutions of socialaizing and warming up eachother in times of shut-down and social-distantcing. So we will start a weekly online Practica Mondays from 8pm and a Zoom hangout from 9pm. Here we can meet, communicate and exchange with eachother. We will start with a test sesssion this monday 16th and then do it on a broader scale next week!
