We have been living part-time on Crete for several years and are friends with a Greek-German couple, Giorgos and Areti, who had put so much effort into building a lovely little home for themselves and their two children. We were always welcome there, and whenever space was tight, they simply made room for us and others. During the devastating fire in the Preveli Valley on July 30th, they lost everything—truly everything—they had built up over the years in a matter of minutes. No home left, no children's belongings, no olive trees, no mementos—nothing at all! Everything fell victim to the flames.

We are devastated and heartbroken by this tragedy. We feel a strong desire to support this family and encourage them to start over and rebuild their home. We are asking you from the bottom of our hearts to make a donation to help them do just that!
