Im Jahr 1873 wurde diese wunderschöne Windmühle im idyllischen Letzin (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) erbaut. Rund 100 Jahre später erfüllte sich mein Opa einen Traum, kaufte sie und schenkte sie meiner Oma zum Frauentag. Mit viel Liebe und harter Arbeit haben sie die Mühle restauriert und gepflegt – ein echtes Herzensprojekt.

Heute stehen die Flügel still. Meine Großeltern sind nicht mehr da, doch ihr Werk und ihre Leidenschaft leben in der Mühle weiter. Für mich ist sie ein Stück Familiengeschichte – und ein Kulturgut, das nicht verloren gehen darf.

Leider hat die Zeit ihre Spuren hinterlassen: Das Bauwerk ist stark beschädigt, Flügel und Windrosenbock mussten bereits abgebaut werden, um einen Einsturz zu verhindern. Wenn wir jetzt nichts tun, droht der endgültige Verfall.

💨 Save the Historic Windmill in Letzin! 💚

Built in 1873, this beautiful windmill stands in the idyllic village of Letzin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. About a hundred years later, my grandfather bought it and gave it to my grandmother as a Women’s Day gift. Together, they lovingly restored and cared for it – a true labor of love.

Today, the sails stand still. My grandparents are no longer with us, but their spirit and dedication live on through the windmill. For me, it’s not just a building – it’s part of our family’s story and a precious piece of cultural heritage that must be preserved.

Sadly, time has taken its toll. The mill has suffered serious damage, and both the sails and the wind rose support had to be removed to prevent collapse. If nothing is done soon, this unique landmark may be lost forever.
