Urgent Solidarity Needed Now!

We are sharing this because Meena, a close friend, classmate and comrade truly needs support right now.

They come from a country facing serious economic and political hardship and cannot rely on any financial help from family or so on. They have been working hard for many years now. Still it is never enough in such times. 

They are in the final phase of their studies with a real chance to continue in academia. But because of growing debt and basic living costs - thanks partially to Barmer Insurance - they are at real risk of having to leave and return home simply because they cannot afford to stay. Recently, their laptop also broke which makes studying and working even harder.

For years Meena has been so true in their activism, their academic work and their dedication to community. They worked constantly, applied for scholarships and did everything possible to stay enrolled and keep their residency status. 

Now the situation has become critical. They face serious health problems, which made it impossible for them to follow up on basic things including debt letters such as the one from the insurance. A massive stress for young people that live abroad and feel alienated in this health care system that does not offer safe(r) spaces but further exploits us. While our people are working day and night to feed the care-chain and keep Germany running.

That sounds like a lot of weight to carry? Yes, it really is!

That is why a group of friends now decided to step in and start this fundraiser. Our goal is to raise 3.000€ in total to help with urgent debt payments, essential living costs, a basic laptop for their studies and work.
