Sounds of Subterrania hat zwei grundlegende Inspirationen und Standbeine, das eine ist die Musik und das andere ist das Artwork. Beide sind durch die aktuelle Lage bedroht und beiden möchte ich mit diesem Aufruf helfen. Denn es ist eine Bitte für die, die keine laute Stimme in diesen Zeiten haben und durch das Netz der Hilfe fallen werden. Faratuben, eine Band aus Mali und das jüngste Mitglied in der Sounds of Subterrania Community, ist derzeit in Dänemark gestrandet. Im Sommer wollten wir das erste Album veröffentlichen. In diesem Zusammenhang waren mehrere Auftritte, unter anderem beim Roskilde Festival, gebucht. Diese Tour bricht jetzt komplett weg und die Band steht vor einem Schuldenberg von ca. 10.000,-€. Sollten wir es nicht schaffen diesen Schuldenberg zu schmelzen, hat dieses weitreichende Auswirkungen auf die Arbeit der Band, denn im Gegensatz zu europäischen oder amerikanischen Bands, kann Faratuben für spätere Konzerte das Visa auf Grund ihrer finanziellen Situation verweigert werden. Andere afrikanische Künstler z.B. Bibi Ahmed & Group Inerane haben bereits Visa und Reisen beantragt, welche jetzt verfallen werden. Ihnen droht das gleiche Schicksal. Auch Kaleb Stewart kann seine Tour nicht antreten und man muss nicht speziell erwähnen, daß die amerikanische Regierung diesen Ausfall nicht ersetzen wird. Europäische Bands stehen ebenfalls vor einem Scherbenhaufen. Ich möchte zusätzlich erwähnen, daß meine afrikanischen Bands wichtige kulturelle und gesellschaftspolitische Arbeit vor Ort in ihren Ländern leisten. Sie helfen mit ihrer Musik, ein Bewußtsein für Freiheit, Solidarität und Humanität zu schaffen. Sie stehen in vorderster Front gegen Ungerechtigkeit und machen sich angreifbar und verletzlich. Sie vertreten damit genau meine, und ich hoffe auch deine, alten Punkrockideale und genau deswegen ist Deine Hilfe jetzt wichtig. Ebenso sind viele der Gestalter meiner Artworks akut von der jetzigen Situation betroffen. Aufträge werden storniert oder erst gar nicht erteilt und Tourposter ohne Touren, ihr wisst schon .... Für beide, Bands und Gestalter möchte ich um Spenden bitten, denn ich als Label bin auf beide angewiesen. Die Verteilung wird dabei nach Bedürftigkeit unter den Bands erfolgen. Für Spenden über 50 Euro werden wir ein spezielles auf 100 Stück limitiertes Siebdruckartwork des ersten Faratuben Albums erstellen und als Dankeschön aushändigen. Die Erstellung und der Druck des Artworks wird dabei als Auftrag ausgegeben, um somit die Silkscreen Community zu unterstützen. Sollte die Zahl der Spender über 50,-€ diese Zahl überschreiten, wird ein weiterer Siebdrucker ein Artwork für eine weitere Sounds of Subterrania Band gestalten, um somit den Effekt der Unterstützung zu erhöhen. Both are threatened by the current situation and I would like to help both with this call. Because its a request for those, who have no loud voice in these times and will fall through the network of help. Faratuben, a band from Mali and the youngest member of the Sounds of Subterrania community, is currently stranded in Denmark. In summer we wanted to release the first album. In this context, several gigs were booked, including the Roskilde Festival. This tour now breaks away completely and the band faces a mountain of debts of approx. € 10,000. Should we not be able to melt this mountain of debt, this has far-reaching effects on the work of the band, because unlike European or American bands, Faratuben can be refused the visa for later concerts due to their financial situation. Other African artists e.g. Bibi Ahmed & Group Inerane have already applied for visas and travel, which will now expire. They face the same fate. Kaleb Stewart is also unable to begin his tour and there is no need to mention, that the american government will not replace this loss. European bands are also in front of a heap of broken glass. I would also like to mention that my african bands do important cultural and socio-political work locally in their countries. With their music they help to create an awareness of freedom, solidarity and humanity. They are at the forefront of injustice, making themselves vulnerable. They represent exactly mine, and I also hope your, old punk rock ideals and that's why your help is important now. Likewise, many of the designers of my artwork are acutely affected by the current situation. Orders are canceled or not placed at all and tour posters without tours, you know .... I would like to ask for donations for both, bands and designers, because as a label I am dependent on both. The distribution will take place according to the need among the bands. For donations over 50 euros, we will create a special screen printing work of the first Faratuben album, limited to 100 pieces, and hand it over as a thank you. The creation and printing of the artwork is issued as an order to support the silkscreen community. If the number of donors of more than 50, - € exceeds this number, another screen printer will create an artwork for another Sounds of Subterrania band, in order to increase the effect of the support.
