Dear friends,

This is a fundraiser for the former Mudita Teachers. As you might know, one night the military burned one of our buildings, shooting in the air with what sounded like firearms. Everybody flee to a safe place and the monastic school was taking over by the military straight away. Some teachers went back to their family; others took shelter in monasteries or schools. We all lost that night our home, project and future. 

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case and worst is happening; day and night, everywhere in Myanmar, a reign of terror has become daily events. What is happening in this country is extremely sad. This situation brought the entire country to a standstill as Myanmar is running into an even more global civil war issue. The economy is completely paralyzed, a huge general strike has been in effect to protest against the coup and there are very few jobs available. 

Our friends in the country need our help. Most of the former Mudita Teachers are facing financial difficulties and struggle to sustain their livelihood. With this fundraiser we would like to give them a head start for a new life. With only 100.000 MMK (ca. 50 Euros) you can support a teacher for a month. We have 8 teachers who are in need at the moment. For their safety we prefer to avoid any names here. If you have any questions pls. write to me [email protected].
