The Outsider (working title) is a 2–3 minute short film by filmmaking couple Lyan Hein and Lucía Gil based in Berlin (www.lyanhein.com).
"Set in an overworked, monotonous world, the film follows one evening in the life of a man who appears indifferent to the recent death of his mother. What begins as an attempt to escape through memory and sensation slowly turns into a confrontation with grief."
The film explores themes of loss, absurdism, and the human need to face pain rather than avoid it, inspired by the novel "The Stranger" by Albert Camus.
We are a small, unpaid team working independently and we gave everything we had to get this film made. The Outsider is fully shot, but we need to raise more funds to complete it and distribute it. We're trying to raise €350+ in total.
The Outsider will be featured by HEX Magazine, an art-driven platform and documentary series that highlights emerging artists and gives them a voice.
As a thank you, everyone who supports the project will be:
By contributing, you're helping an emerging director give voice to a story about grief and the human experience and makes you part of our journey. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps make this project possible 🤍
