Neue Verträge zwingen Synchronsprecher*innen, ihre Stimmen für KI-Training freizugeben – oder sie dürfen nicht arbeiten. Ohne Ausschlussmöglichkeit. Ohne Vergütung. Ohne Mitsprache.

Unser Ziel: Ein juristisches Gutachten, das den neu vorgelegten Vertrag nach deutschem Recht beurteilt und die Grundlage für rechtssichere Regeln legt – für faire KI-Nutzung, die Kreative schützt statt ausbeutet.

Es wird ein längerer Kampf, den wir als ehrenamtlich geführter Berufsinteressenverband ohne externe Förderung nur mit finanzieller Unterstützung führen können. Wir rechnen insgesamt mit ca. 40.000 Euro an Kosten.

WIR STEHEN AUF – GEMEINSAM
Hunderte Synchronsprecher*innen haben sich erstmalig zusammengeschlossen und sagen gemeinsam: Stopp! Unsere Stimmen sind keine kostenlose Datenbasis für Tech-Konzerne. Wir sind keine Rohstoffe. Das ist eine noch nie dagewesene Solidaritätsbewegung. Denn wir wissen: Wenn wir diese Verträge von Netflix jetzt akzeptieren, dann wird das Auswirkungen auf die gesamte Branche haben.
Der Verband Deutscher Sprecher:innen e.V. (VDS) steht geschlossen hinter den Synchronsprecher*innen – und täglich treten mehr bei.
Was das Nein zum vorgelegten Vertrag bedeutet? Diese Menschen können gerade nicht ihrer Arbeit nachgehen. Daher setzen wir alles daran, so schnell wie möglich eine Lösung verhandeln zu können.
WIR BRAUCHEN RECHTSSICHERHEIT
Was darf Netflix mit unseren Stimmen machen? Was nicht? Wo sind die Grenzen im KI-Zeitalter?
Um das zu beantworten, haben wir ein unabhängiges juristisches Gutachten bei der führenden Kanzlei Spirit Legal beauftragt. Die Ergebnisse werden öffentlich – und können als Grundlage für eine faire Lösung mit Netflix dienen.
Eine Lösung, die beiden Seiten Rechtssicherheit gibt und als Vorbild für alle Streamingdienste dienen kann.
Wir kritisieren, dass KI-Training mit menschlichen Stimmen und urheberrechtlich geschützten Werken keine Voraussetzung für eine Beschäftigung sein darf und fordern KI-Training nur mit einer Lizenz, die zu vergüten ist und bei der jede Person selbst entscheiden darf, ob sie diese Lizenz anbieten möchte.

📢 What we are doing about it – and why your help matters
Our goal: A legal opinion that assesses the newly submitted contract under German law and lays the foundation for legally secure rules – for fair AI use that protects creatives instead of exploiting them.

It will be a long fight, which we, as a volunteer-run professional interest group without external funding, can only wage with financial support. We estimate the total cost to be around 40,000 euros.

WE STAND UP – TOGETHER
Hundreds of voice actors have joined forces for the first time and are saying together: Stop! Our voices are not a free database for tech companies. We are not raw materials. This is an unprecedented solidarity movement. Because we know that if we accept these contracts from Netflix now, it will have an impact on the entire industry.
The Association of German Voice Actors (VDS) stands united behind the voice actors – and more are joining every day.
What does saying no to the proposed contract mean? These people are currently unable to do their jobs. That's why we are doing everything we can to negotiate a solution as quickly as possible.
WE NEED LEGAL CERTAINTY
What is Netflix allowed to do with our voices? What is it not allowed to do? Where are the boundaries in the age of AI?
To answer this question, we commissioned an independent legal opinion from the leading law firm Spirit Legal. The results will be made public and can serve as the basis for a fair solution with Netflix.
A solution that provides legal certainty for both sides and can serve as a model for all streaming services.
We criticize the fact that AI training with human voices and copyrighted works should not be a prerequisite for employment, and we demand that AI training only be permitted with a license that must be remunerated and where each person can decide for themselves whether they want to offer this license.
