A Unique Theatre Project for Children in Hospitals
TheaterLiteraTour
Three years of theatre and magic, created from a single source.
Support my heartfelt project for children in hospitals and children’s hospices.
For over two years, I have been visiting children in hospitals and children’s hospices as a trained theatre pedagogue and actress with many years of experience, with a project I have entirely developed, written, and designed myself:
"Skara and the Comet Shards.”
I did not simply write a story.
I created a world. A character. A theatrical universe. A living, holistic concept that offers children in difficult life situations courage, connection, and a spark of magic.
There is no comparable initiative that so lovingly combines theatre, poetry, fantasy, music, and compassionate pedagogy.
What exactly happens during a visit?
I enter the room as Skara, an exiled figure from the fairytale realm of Anaru, accompanied by Milo – a large, fluffy creature with a special sensitivity for quiet emotions.
I bring along a self-illustrated picture book, small stage props, gentle music, handmade comet shards – and above all: time.
I do not simply read aloud.
I perform. I tell stories. I connect.
During the encounter, I repeatedly step into small roles, play short theatrical scenes, and create a vivid, immersive experience. I sing songs I have composed myself, written especially for these visits, which deepen the stories on an emotional level. In this way, storytelling, theatre, music, and human connection flow seamlessly into one another.
I create a safe, magical space in which children do not have to function, but are simply allowed to be – and where hope can be felt again.
At the end of every visit, each child receives a comet shard from Anaru – a handmade talisman for courage and remembrance. Together, we create a Sky of Wishes, where children’s thoughts, hopes, and longings become visible.
What your donation makes possible:
Hospitals and hospices are unable to fund this project.
Nevertheless, I want to continue, professionally, with heart, and with dignity.
Your donation provides concrete, tangible support:
Why this project is so special
Because every part of it comes from me: the idea, the text, the music, the roles, the performance, the concept, the design, and the realization.
Because I do not perform on a stage, but stand in the midst of real life.
Because I do not “put on a show” , I meet children with respect, sensitivity, and genuine connection.
As a trained theatre pedagogue with many years of experience working with children and young people, I know that theatre can open doors, especially where hope feels fragile.
This project continues to grow. I am constantly working on new stories and books, expanding the world of Skara and Anaru, and carrying the vision of bringing this work to as many countries as possible, so that children in hospitals and hospices beyond national borders can also experience moments of joy and light.
Become part of the journey
I work alone.
And while I can make a profound difference, I cannot do it without support.
Every donation helps to sustain this unique work.
It allows Skara to reach new children, across borders and languages.
It lets stories comfort, songs resonate, and magic endure.
And it makes small stars shine, even where darkness feels close.
Thank you for making this possible.
