We kindly ask for a donation to save our music production studios' rare equipment. On Monday morning our studio building was partially destroyed by an explosion. There are additional music production and photo studios in the same building, some of which were spared from the explosion, while one person sadly past away in the blast.

In the ruins of the storage rooms there are musical instruments and tape machines that unfortunately cannot be recovered.

At this point in time, it can only be guessed whether the recording studios on the 3rd floor of the Hamburger Straße 182 building remained intact. Since the explosion occurred on the 2nd floor, the pressure wave found its way around the entire 2nd floor. The broken windows indicate the force of the pressure wave. At the location where the explosion took place, the building suffered so much damag that this part building is being demolished so that the U3 underground behind the building can resume operations as soon as possible.

Access to the studios and the rest of the building is prohibited until further notice, so the future of the treasures in the studios remains uncertain. Historical treasures such as one of 3 Polygram mixing consoles ever made from 1977, on which the Rolling Stones, among others, have already recorded, exquisite microphones from 1925 to 1980, which alone are of immeasurable value, are located in these studios along with a large instrument collection from the 1960s and 1970s . A 60-year-old machine for cutting masters for vinyl production - the only completely preserved machine in northern Germany, on which record masters for The Smiths, Elvis Costello, Pixies, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Luis Armstrong, Yello, Fats Domino, Dr. John, Henry Mancini, Santana, Rainbirds, Art Garfunkel, New Order, Trentemøller, Die Ärzte, Fanta 4, Einstürzende Neubauten, Fettes Brot and many more were cut, threaten to sink into rubble and ashes, should it be decided that this part of the building is also released for demolition before these treasures are brought to safety.

The studios can be seen in the book "Soundlotsen", which was awarded the German Photo Book Prize 20 | 21 in bronze in the category "Documentary-journalistic photo book".

We, the studio operators, are yet again worried about our continued business, which depends on the preservation of these treasures.

We will need to commission a specialist moving company to rescue our gear and instruments. New studios will need to be built...

We are grateful for every penny and your support!
