Auf dem Jakobsweg

Liebe Familie, liebe Freunde, liebe Kollegen und Interessierte,

am 10. Juni 2025 mache ich mich auf eine besondere Reise:

Mit dem Fahrrad werde ich den Jakobsweg von meinem Heimatort Kreuzau-Winden bis nach Santiago de Compostela erradeln – eine Strecke von rund 2.500 Kilometern!

Diese Tour möchte ich nutzen, um Spenden für das Zentrum für Neuroonkologie in Düsseldorf zu sammeln.

Mein Ziel: 2.500 Euro in 5 Wochen – also 1 Euro pro Kilometer!

Warum liegt mir dieses Projekt am Herzen?

2019 erkrankte unser Sohn an einem Gehirntumor und musste operiert werden. Im Mai 2024 folgte eine weitere Operation. Zum Glück geht es ihm gut, und er meistert diese Herausforderung mit unglaublichem Mut und Stärke – dafür habe ich den allergrößten Respekt.

Beide Operationen wurden von Frau Prof. Marion Rapp und ihrem Team in der Neuroonkologie in Düsseldorf durchgeführt, deren kompetente und einfühlsame Art uns sehr beeindruckt hat.

Unser Sohn und unsere ganze Familie fühlen sich durch Frau Prof. M. Rapp nicht nur medizinisch sondern auch persönlich sehr gut betreut.

Die Ärzte leisten am Zentrum für Neuroonkologie herausragende Arbeit, die ich mit dieser Aktion unterstützen möchte.

Das Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf gehört zu den größten und erfahrensten Einrichtungen seiner Art in Deutschland, jährlich werden in Düsseldorf über 350 Hirntumoroperationen durchgeführt.

On the Way of St. James

Dear family, dear friends, dear colleagues,

On June 10, 2025, I'm going on a special journey:

I will be cycling the Way of St. James from my home town of Kreuzau-Winden (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) to Santiago de Compostela - a distance of around 2,500 kilometers!

I want to use this tour to collect donations for the Center for Neurooncology in Düsseldorf.

My goal: 2,500 euros in 5 weeks - that's 1 euro per kilometer!

Why is this project important to me?

In 2019, our son fell ill with a brain tumor and had to be operated on. Another operation followed in May 2024. Fortunately, he is doing well and is overcoming this challenge with incredible courage and strength - I have the greatest respect for that.

Both operations were carried out by Prof. Marion Rapp and her team at the neuro-oncology department in Düsseldorf, whose competent and empathetic approach impressed us greatly.

Our son and our whole family feel very well looked after by Prof. M. Rapp, not only medically but also personally.

The doctors at the Center for Neurooncology do outstanding work, which I would like to support with this campaign.

The University Hospital Düsseldorf is one of the largest and most experienced facilities of its kind in Germany, and over 350 brain tumor operations are performed in Düsseldorf every year.
