Help Me Rebuild My Home and Hope
My name is Mykola Ivantsov. I am a former serviceman who took part in defending Ukraine. During my service, I developed a serious heart condition — dilated cardiomyopathy — which left me disabled.
Before the war, I lived in Mariupol. Through years of hard work, when I was still healthy, I was able to purchase my own apartment — it was my pride and my home. Unfortunately, after the occupation of the city, my apartment was completely destroyed. Even if the city is one day liberated, there is no hope of recovering my home, as it no longer physically exists.
The Ukrainian government promised compensation for lost housing. However, after more than three years of trying to pursue justice, I have received nothing. The Kyiv authorities officially informed me that people from occupied territories are currently not eligible for compensation. This was a devastating blow, but I refuse to give up hope.
Today, my biggest dream is to have a roof over my head again. My goal is to raise funds for a small house in a village where I can live peacefully and focus on my treatment. This would allow me to start a new chapter of life in safety and dignity.
I am reaching out to all kind-hearted people: any support you can provide will bring me one step closer to fulfilling this dream and having a home again.
Thank you for your support.
