EN: Borders are closed, traveling is impossible, trade relations hindered – at the same time, all European countries are united by the same challenge: handling the Coronavirus. Still, governments are focusing on national or even regional solutions. Both, travel restrictions and a national focus of politicians are influencing journalism, too. Therefore, we think the time has come for a new way of European reporting: with an international team, each team member covering his or her home country.

As there are many more topics to cover - current ones and everlasting ones - our set funding goal is a minimum. Every Euro on top helps us to continue working on a European coverage of political, social and cultural topics.

DE: Die Grenzen sind geschlossen, Reisen unmöglich, Handelsbeziehungen erschwert - gleichzeitig eint alle europäischen Länder dieselbe Herausforderung: das Coronavirus handhaben. Dennoch konzentrieren sich die Regierungen auf nationale oder sogar regionale Lösungen. Beides, die Reisebeschränkungen und der nationale Fokus der Politiker*innen, beeinflusst auch den Journalismus. Deswegen denken wir, dass die Zeit für einen neuen Weg der europäischen Berichterstattung gekommen ist: mit einem internationalen Team, in dem jedes Mitglied sein oder ihr Land betrachtet.

Da es noch viele weitere Themen abzudecken gibt - aktuelle und fortwährende -, ist unser Fundingziel ein Minimum. Jeder zusätzliche Euro hilft uns, unsere Arbeit an einer europäischen Berichterstattung über politische, gesellschaftliche und kulturelle Themen fortzusetzen.

IT: I confini sono chiusi, viaggiare è impossibile, le relazioni commerciali sono piene di difficoltà. Ma allo stesso tempo tutti i Paesi europei sono uniti dalla medesima sfida: fronteggiare il coronavirus. E, ancora, i governi si concentrano su soluzioni nazionali se non addirittura regionali. Le restrizioni di viaggio e la politica ripiegata unicamente verso i problemi interni sono entrambi fattori che stanno influenzando anche il giornalismo. Per questo pensiamo che sia giunto il momento di un nuovo approccio giornalistico, tutto europeo, portato avanti da un team internazionale di reporter nel quale ciascuno racconta il proprio Paese.

Ci sono tanti altri argomenti da trattare, problemi di ora ma anche temi che sono sempre attuali. Per questo l’obiettivo della nostra campagna di raccolta fondi è solo il minimo. Ogni euro ci aiuterà a continuare a lavorare per coprire tematiche politiche, sociali e culturali in tutta Europa.
