Vom 6. März bis 8. Juli sind in Costa Rica 5.836 Corona-Fälle aufgezeichnet. 24 davon sind verstorben und 1.929 gelten als genesen. Die Regierung von Costa Rica sowie die Gesundheitsbehörden des Landes geben weiterhin regelmäßige Pressekonferenzen, in denen sie die Bevölkerung über die aktuelle Situation informieren.
Die Lage in den letzten Wochen hat sich deutlich verschlechtert und derzeit wird in der Hauptstadt von Masseninfektion gesprochen, da die Behörden es zurzeit nicht schaffen die Infektionsketten der Erkrankten nachzuvollziehen. Die Landkreise wurden in unterschiedliche Risikostufen eingeteilt: Alarmstufe orange bei hohem Ansteckungsrisiko, Alarmstufe gelb bei geringerem. Der Landkreis Buenos Aires, in dem Biolley liegt, ist aktuell in die Alarmstufe gelb eingruppiert.
Dies sind einige der gültigen Regelungen der Regierung:
1 - Ab 3. Juli wurde das Fahrverbot besonders in den Grenzgebieten ausgeweitet. Dort herrscht jetzt Fahrverbot von 17 Uhr abends bis 5 Uhr morgens.
2 - Öffentliche Parks dürfen nicht besucht werden und weiterhin sind Nationalparks, darunter der PILA (nahe Biolley), geschlossen. Die geöffneten Parks dürfen unter entsprechenden Bestimmungen nur bis zur Hälfte der Besucher empfangen. Hotels können bis zu 50% ausgelastet werden.
3 - Ab 1. August öffnen die Landesgrenzen für den Flugverkehr, für Länder in denen die Situation bezüglich der Virus-Ansteckung unter Kontrolle ist. Schulen bleiben geschlossen.
4 - In den weniger betroffenen Gebieten dürfen tagsüber Veranstaltungen bis zu 75 Personen stattfinden. Strände dürfen vormittags besucht werden. Restaurantes, Läden, Museen, Kinos und Theater sind nur am Wochenende geöffnet. Derweil sind in den Risikogebieten folgende Orte komplett geschlossen: Restaurants, Beauty-Salons, Läden, Kinos, Theater, Museen und Bars.
5 - Es bestehen weiterhin Empfehlungen der Regierung an die Bevölkerung, das Haus nur wenn nötig zu verlassen und Sicherheitsabstand einzuhalten.
6 - Es besteht eine Maskenpflicht in öffentlichen geschlossenen Räumen wie Kinos, Theatern, Kirchen, Banken, sowie in Supermärkten und Restaurants.
7 - Großveranstaltungen sind weiterhin bis auf unbegrenzte Zeit gestrichen.

News about the situation in Costa Rica:
Between March 6th and July 8th, there have been 5,836 cases of coronavirus reported in Costa Rica, 24 deaths, and 1,929 recoveries. The Costa Rican government and health authorities continue to hold press conferences to inform the public about the situation. In recent weeks, things have worsened, and community transmission has been shown in the capital. This means that authorities are unable to establish the local origin of confirmed cases. The districts were grouped according to the risk of infection: orange alert means greater risk, yellow means less. The Buenos Aires district, where Biolley is located, is currently on yellow alert.
These are some of the measures the government has established:
1 - From July 3rd the vehicle restriction will be extended from 5pm to 5am especially in border areas.
2 - Public parks are not operational, and not all national parks are open (the PILA is still closed). Those that can open will function at 50% capacity, all with the necessary safety measures. Hotels can open at 50% capacity.
3 - Starting on August 1st, air borders will be open to countries with a controlled situation regarding the transmission of the virus. The academic year remains suspended.
4 - In the least affected areas, places of worship are authorized to open between 5am and 7pm for up to 75 people, beaches are open from 5am to 9:30am, and restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, and cinemas on the weekends. However, in the most affected areas (orange alert level), the following establishments are not authorized to open: restaurants, salons, shops, cinemas, theaters, museums, places of worship, and bars.
5 - The government still recommends that people only leave the house if necessary and maintain their distance.
6 - It is necessary to wear a mask in closed spaces such as cinemas, theaters, churches, banks, supermarkets, and restaurants.
7 - Mass gatherings and public performances remain suspended indefinitely.

Novedad sobre la situación del país:
Desde el 6 de marzo al 8 de julio se han reportado 5836 casos de Coronavirus en Costa Rica, 24 personas fallecidas y 1929 personas recuperadas. El gobierno de Costa Rica y las autoridades de salud del país continúan dando conferencias de prensa para informar a la población sobre la situación. La situación en las últimas semanas ha empeorado y actualmente en la capital se ha demostrado que hay transmisión comunitaria, esto significa que las autoridades no logran establecer el origen local del contagio de los casos confirmados. Los cantones se agruparon según el riesgo de contagiarse: alerta naranja significa que tienen más riesgo y alerta amarilla tienen menos. El cantón de Buenos Aires, donde se ubica Biolley, está en estos momentos en alerta amarilla.
Estas son algunas de las medidas que establece el gobierno:
1 - A partir del 3 de julio se extendió la restricción vehicular especialmente en las zonas fronterizas: es de 5 de la tarde a 5 de la mañana.
2 - El funcionamiento de parques públicos no está habilitado y todavía no están abiertos todos los parques nacionales (el PILA sigue cerrado) y los que funcionan al 50% de capacidad y con todas las medidas de seguridad necesarias. Los hoteles pueden abrir hasta el 50% de su capacidad.
3 - A partir del 1 de agosto se abrirán las fronteras aéreas a países con situación controlada respecto a la transmisión del virus. El curso lectivo permanece suspendido.
4 - En las zonas con menos afectación, en horario de 5:00 am a 7:00 pm, hay autorización para funcionamiento de lugares de culto de máximo 75 personas, playas de 5:00 am a 9:30 am y restaurantes, tiendas, museos, cines y teatros los fines de semana. Sin embargo, en las zonas en alerta naranja (las más afectadas), los siguientes establecimientos no están habilitados: restaurantes, salones de belleza, tiendas, cines, teatros y museos, lugares de culto y bares.
5 - El gobierno todavía recomienda a la población solamente salir de la casa si es necesario y mantener distancia.
6 - Es obligatorio usar mascarilla en espacios cerrados como cines, teatros, iglesias, bancos, supermercados, y restaurantes.
7 - Las concentraciones masivas y espectáculos públicos siguen suspedidas indefinidamente.

Guten Tag!
Nachdem wir uns schon mehrfach bei allen Spender*innen für die großzügige Unterstützung bedankt haben, geht unser Dank heute in eine ganz andere Richtung. Eine solche Spendenaktion bedarf großen organisatorischen Aufwandes. Häufig klang es in unseren Publikationen so, als wären nur wir deutschen ehemaligen Freiwilligen für alles verantwortlich. Dem ist aber in keinster Weise so. Wir möchten an dieser Stelle unseren herzlichen Dank vor allem an Óscar ausrichten. Er kommt selbst aus Biolley und macht dieses Jahr seinen Freiwilligendienst in Deutschland. Gerade in der schwierigen Zeit von Corona hat er uns tatkräftig bei der Organisation des Projektes und insbesondere den professionellen Übersetzungen all unser Texte ins Spanische geholfen. Auch die Neuigkeiten über die aktuelle Lage konnten nur durch seine aufmerksame Medienverfolgung verfasst werden. Muchísimas gracias, Óscar!
Ein weiterer herzlicher Dank geht an Geovanna und Ángela, beide Socias von ASOMOBI. Sie beide haben die ganze Aktion über in engem Kontakt mit uns gestanden. Una campaña de donaciones como esta requiere mucho esfuerzo para organizarla. En nuestras publicaciones muchas veces sonaba, como si nosotras, las voluntarias alemanas somos responsables de todo. Pero eso no es cierto. En este lugar le queremos mandar nuestro agradecimiento cordial a Óscar. Él es de Biolley y ha estado en Alemania haciendo su voluntariado este año. Justamente en este tiempo difícil de Corona él nos ayudó activamente en la organización del proyecto y sobre todo en las traducciones profesionales de nuestros textos al español. Además las noticias sobre la situación actual en Costa Rica se pudieron escribir solamente con su seguimiento atento de la prensa local. ¡Vielen herzlichen Dank, Óscar!

After we have thanked all donors several times for their generous support, our thanks goes in a completely different direction today. A fundraising campaign like this requires a lot oforganizational effort! In our publications it often sounded as if only we former volunteers from Germany were responsible for everything. But this is in fact not the way it worked. At this point we would really like to express paritculary our sincere and deepest thanks to Óscar. He is from Biolley and is in his voluntary service in Germany this year. Especially in the difficult time of Corona, he actively helped us with the organization of the project and especially with the professional translations of all our texts into Spanish. Furthermore all the news about the current situation in Costa Rica could only have been written with the help of his attentive media follow-up. Muchísimas gracias, Óscar!
Another big THANK YOU goes to Geovanna and Ángela, both socias of ASOMOBI. Both have been in close contact with us throughout the whole campaign. They patiently listened to and answered all our questions about the possibilities of support and fairness in distribution and, above all, took charge of the organization in Biolley. Liebe Spender*innen, wir können Ihnen heute mitteilen, dass vom Spendengeld erneut individuell eine Socia von ASOMOBI unterstützt werden konnte. Es geht um Doña Hortensia, eine der Gründungsmitglieder der Organisation. Bei ihr entwickelt sich in der Hand eine sogenannte Dupuytren-Kontraktur, eine Erkrankung der Sehnen, die durch Verkürzung zu einer schmerzhaften Beugestellung der Finger kommt und die Hand stark funktionseinschränkt. In ihrer Familie und im Freundeskreis sammelt sie Geld für die Operation, die aufgrund einer akuten Verschlechterung zeitnah durchgeführt werden muss und wir unterstützen sie darin mit 50.000 colones (ca. 80 Euro). Danke an Sie als Spender*innen!
Doch heute haben wir auch eine weitere Ankündigung: Das Spendenprojekt neigt sich dem Ende entgegen. Wir werden die Sammelaktion am 25.09. beenden. Bis dahin möchten wir Sie noch ein letztes Mal ermutigen, selbst als Spender*in aktiv zu werden oder Freund*innen und Bekannte zu motivieren einen kleinen Beitrag zu geben; vielleicht eine*n Nachbar*in? Ella padece de una enfermedad llamada contractura de Dupuytren, una enfermedad de los tendones que, al acortarse, provoca una dolorosa flexión de los dedos y restringe gravemente la función de la mano. Sus familiares y amigos recaudan dinero para la operación, que tiene que realizarse pronto para evitar un deterioro de la mano, y la apoyamos con 50.000 colones (unos 80 euros). ¡Gracias por su donaciones!
Pero hoy también tenemos otro anuncio: El proyecto de donación está llegando a su fin. Terminaremos la recolección de donaciones el 25 de septiembre. Hasta entonces, ¿le gustaría convertirse por última vez en un donante o motivar a un vecino, amigo o conocido a hacer una pequeña contribución? En una tercera fase queremos comprar plantas para las mujeres de ASOMOBI. Today we inform you that another member of ASOMOBI was again helped with the money from the donations. This time, it was Doña Hortensia, one of the founding members of the organization. She suffers from a disease called Dupuytren’s contracture, a disease of the tendons that causes painful flexion of the fingers and severely restricts the function of the hand. Her family and friends are raising money for an operation, which has to be done soon to prevent damage to her hand, and we are supporting her with 50,000 colones (about 80 Euros or $84 USD). Thank you for your donations!
We also have another announcement: the donation project is entering its final stage and will end on September 25th. Before then, would you like to become a donor or encourage a neighbor, friend, or acquaintance to make a small contribution? With this third phase, we want to purchase plants for the women of ASOMOBI. With just 5 euro ($6 USD), you can support a family with, for example, 30 lettuce plants, 20 chives, 10 cabbages, 5 tomatoes, and spices like coriander and parsley.
