“We came back early September, and since then the three of us are hiding in different places in Goma, for security reasons. A few days after our arrival in Goma, I was a victim of a horrible robbery and torture by several bandits, on September 6 at 2 a.m. during the night Unfortunately, at the neighbors' house they shot a person. For me and my friends we had care and psychological support for two weeks, for today we are well. We were forced to change the neighborhood for another neighborhood still in Goma. Since September 6 until today I am without any documents, identity papers, without clothes, without computer, and telephone, and specifically being without papers in Goma is very dangerous.

On the ground in the territories the war continues.”

“Marianne, Since high school, I have had the idea of seeing my country undergo great change, at all levels. That's why I even got involved in a citizens' movement since 2013 after high school.

The DRC, my country, has so much wealth in its soil, subsoil, and natural resources, and considerable human resources. The big problem is leadership, good management, and good governance. I am passionate about the future of the Congo, where the wealth will benefit the Congolese people, a Congo where there is peace and social justice. A Congo where there is peace and democracy, also a Congo that reassures the future of Africa and the Great Lakes sub-region.

Marianne, while the country is going through a difficult time in its history, we must learn in order to change, and I strongly believe, the young people with whom I am, we are capable of bringing about a change for a better future for the Congolese population and with the 9 neighbouring countries of Congo in Central Africa.

We are looking for one-year, two-year, or three-year scholarship opportunities for studies in political administration, management, peace and democracy, good political governance, and natural resource management. Please share with us all the opportunities available for studies and major training and bring about change in my country and for the people who are suffering greatly due to a lack of leadership.

I think we must bring about change in the country; it's high time.

Today, under occupation by a rebellion, it's difficult for us to reflect and act much more forcefully.

These are the ideas we are working on.”

Marianne
