Supporting shelter dogs in Playa del Carmen

++GERMAN VERSION++ Hallo ihr Lieben, ich hoffe ihr hattet schöne Weihnachtsfeiertage und habt diese im kleinen Kreise mit euren Liebsten genießen können. Wir waren fleißig und ich habe tolle Neuigkeiten für euch! Dank der Spendengelder konnte ich eine Packung Wurmtabletten kaufen (389 Pesos, ca. 16 Euros) und damit Daniela, Canela und zwei weitere Töchter von Daniela entwurmen. Daniela und Canela konnten wir bereits Dank anderer Spenden sterilisieren lassen! Sie sind Straßenhunde, die vor dem Tierheim leben und sich wirklich rasant schnell vermehren, was wir natürlich verhindern wollen. Des Weiteren konnten wir das hintere Gehege erneuern und eine komplett neue, rostfreie Gitterwand inklusive Tür installieren (9000 Pesos, ca. 370 Euros). Es sieht wahnsinnig gut aus und die alte, morsche Holzkonstruktion konnte endlich entsorgt werden. Leider habe ich auf betterplace nicht die Möglichkeit Videos oder Fotos zu posten. We have been busy and I have great news for you! Thanks to the donations, I was able to buy a pack of deworming medicine (389 Pesos, approx. 16 Euros) to deworm Daniela, Canela and two other daughters of Daniela. Daniela and Canela have already been sterilized thanks to other donations! They are street dogs that live in front of the shelter and multiply really fast, which of course we want to prevent. Furthermore, we were able to renew the rear enclosure and install a completely new, rust-free grid wall including door (9000 Pesos, approx. 370 Euros). It looks super good and the old, rotten wooden construction could finally be thrown away. Hemos estado ocupados y tengo grandes noticias! Gracias a los donativos pude comprar un paquete de pastillas antiparasitarias (389 pesos, aprox. 16 euros) y desparasitar a Daniela, Canela y otras dos hijas de Daniela. ¡Daniela y Canela ya han sido esterilizadas gracias a otras donaciones! Son perros callejeros que viven frente al refugio y se reproducen muy rápido, lo que por supuesto queremos evitar. Además, pudimos renovar el corral trasero e instalar una reja completamente nueva e inoxidable incluyendo la puerta (9000 pesos, aprox. 370 euros). Se ve increible y ya nos pudimos deshacer de la vieja construccion de madera que ya se estaba pudriendo. Diese hat 2,450 mexikanische Pesos gekostet (ca. 102,00 Euro mit einem Wechselkurs aktuell von 24). Ihr Lieben, vielen Dank erst einmal für eure Spenden und euer Interesse und Vertrauen in dieses Projekt, welches mir wirklich viel bedeutet. Wir konnten bereits 529 Euro via betterplace.me an Spenden sammeln plus 60 Euro, die ich direkt auf mein Privatkonto erhalten habe. Also insgesamt 589 Euro - das ist der Wahnsinn! Vielen lieben Dank für eure Hilfe! Ich werde dieses Projekt weiterhin stark bewerben und hoffe, dass ihr dies auch tun werdet und wir damit zusammen noch mehr Menschen erreichen werden. Nun zu den wirklich tollen Neuigkeiten, die ich für euch habe: Wir retten Cosby! Dank eurer Unterstützung konnte ich heute die Hälfte der lebensnotwendigen Medikamente für Cosby bezahlen (2000 Mexikanische Pesos, umgerechnet ca. 81,50 Euro). Diese Hündin wurde von ihren Besitzern verstoßen als diese feststellten, dass sie einen bösartigen Tumor am Kopf hatte. Dieser konnte bereits erfolgreich entfernt werden und nun konnten Madlen (meine Freundin aus der Schweiz, welche ebenso in Playa del Carmen wohnt und das Tierheim unterstützt) und ich uns die Kosten für die lebensnotwenigen Medikamente für Cosby teilen und sie somit komplett bezahlen. Cosbys roten Blutkörperchen sind sehr gering und daher erhält sie nun Aufbaupräparate und in ca. einem Monat kann ihre 3-wöchige Chemotherapie in Tablettenform beginnen. Der Tierarzt sagt, dass sie damit die besten Überlebenschancen hat! Cosby ist trotz ihrer traurigen Geschichte ein sehr aufgeweckter und lebensfreudiger Hund und wir sind so froh, dass wir zusammen mit eurer Hilfe ihr Leben retten können. Weitere Verbesserungen innerhalb der Installationen des Tierheims sind bereits geplant und sobald diese umgesetzt werden können, informiere ich euch natürlich sofort. Thanks to your donations I was able to pay today the half of the necessary medications for Cosby (2000 Mexican Pesos, round about 81,50 Euros). This female dog was rejected by her owners when they found out that she had a malignant tumour on her head. This tumour was already removed and I shared together with Madlen (a friend of mine from Switzerland who also lives in Playa del Carmen and supports the dog shelter) the costs for Cosby’s medications which are now paid in full. Her red blood cells are very low so she gets now medication for around one month in order to begin her 3-weeks chemotherapy afterwards. The vet says that her chances of survival are more than good! Despite her sad story, Cosby is a really joyful dog with a great lust for life. We are really happy that we can save her with the help of your donations. Further renovations in the dog shelter are already planned and as soon as we can put them into action I will let you know. Ella fue abandonada cuando sus duenos se enteraron que tenia un tumor arriba de su ojo. Se quito el tumor y ahora necesita medicamentos para aumentar sus globulos y empezar con el tratamiento de la quimioterapia. Con este tratamiento tiene muy buen chance de sobrevivir.
