They urgently need the money and use it immediately for the psychological support of the people with disabilities and their parents, for an individual assistant for people with severe disabilities and financial assistance to the family to cover the increased living expenses; especially food and medicine. News from Djerela and short interview with Tanja

Dear all, Some news from Djerela. With the funds collected here so far, they could not only provide financial support to single families with people with disabilities in need and offer them social assistance. It also allowed them to keep up and expand the psychological support: now they have several targeted support groups led by trained psychologists. This alternative care support keeps being highly relevant since reopening the day care centre of Djerela in Kyiv is still too dangerous. But Djerela keeps planning alternatives: Currently they prepare their house on the countryside outside of Kyiv to care for and host groups of people with disabilities and their families. They say: ‘We want to try to do it after May 15. If everything is calm. We hope so.’ Meanwhile, 20 people with disabilities managed to flee to a Danish partner organisation. Those, who could not flee yet, do not plan to evacuate (or cannot). Überweisung angekommen und Nachricht aus Djerela

Hallo zusammen, Gestern sind die ersten 1400 Euro bei Djerela angekommen (leider dauert es etwas mit den Transaktionen). Sie brauchen das Geld dringend und werden es direkt investieren, um die psychologische Unterstützung von den Menschen mit Behinderungen und ihren Eltern weiter zu ermöglichen und eine individuelle Assistenz für Menschen mit sehr schwerwiegender Behinderung zu finanzieren. Der Rest geht an Familien zur finanziellen Unterstützung, um die gestiegenen Lebenshaltungskosten tragen zu können (insbesondere Lebensmittel und Medikamente). Vorgestern haben uns die Menschen von Djerela, die den täglichen Zoom-Sessions beiwohnen können, eine kurze Videobotschaft geschickt.
