Liebe Spenderinnen und Spender und diejenigen, die es noch werden wollenwir sind ein kleines Dorf im Miniformat, aber wir wollen mit Eurer Hilfe Großes leisten . Nicht nur kurzfristig, sondern langfristig. Vagia wird mit gutem Fressen und weiterhin Antibiotika aufgepäppelt, muss aber noch in der Tiearztpraxis bleiben. An alle denen der Wiederaufbau unseres Dorfes am Herzen liegt, an alle die so viel Solidarität zeigen, an alle, die unsere legendäre Gastrfreundschaft schon kennen oder noch kennen lernen wollen.Ich bin Andereas Sisakis, ich habe das Feuer miterlebt. Es war ein erschreckender Alptraum. Innerhalb einer halben Stunde war die gesamte Flora und Fauna des Dorfes zerstört. Wir konnten gerade noch rechtzeitig fliehen, um nicht zu verbrennen. Alles um uns herum ist schwarz, es gibt nichts Grünes mehr.Ich habe schon angefangen ehrenamtlich (ohne Bezahlung) bei zahlreichen Arbeiten zur Beseitigung der Schäden zu helfen. Sobald wir mit Euren Spenden das Material gekauft haben, werde ich mit allen gemeinsam Bäume pflanzen und die umgestürzten Bäume zersägen, um Straßen und Höfe freizulegen und zu säubern. Außerdem habe ich geholfen, die vollständig zerstörte Bewässerungsanlage zu reparieren.Ich werde die Beseitigung der Schäden an der Dorfkirche beaufsichtigen, die wir mit Eurer Hilfe reparieren können. Ich lebe seit dreieinhalb Jahren in Asfendiles und besitze außerdem ein Geschäft in Paleochora. Ich bin hierher gezogen, um mich von der Außenwelt zurückziehen zu können und gleichzeitig mit der Natur verbunden zu fühlen und die wunderbaren Düfte der Berge zu genießen. Am Tag des Brandes wurde ich von einem meiner Freunde kontaktiert, der mich bat, schnell nach Hause zu fahren um zu retten, was ich vielleicht noch retten konnte. Leider konnte ich nicht zu nahe an das Dorf herankommen, da das Feuer das Dorf bereits zerstört hatte. Glücklicherweise gelangte ich weit genug, um einen Nachbarn rechtzeitig zu erreichen und ihm das Leben zu retten. Sein Auto hatte Feuer gefangen, und er lief schwach und gebrechlich mitten auf der Straße. Mit Hilfe eines Freundes konnte ich ihn packen, ihn in mein Auto zerren und so schnell wie möglich die Flucht ergreifen. Liebe Spenderinnen und Spender,wenn ich mir die Videos von dem Feuer noch mal anschaue, läuft es mir eiskalt den Rücken herunter. Ich kenne jede Kurve der Straße, die nach Asfendiles führt. Jedes Mal, wenn ich aus Deutschland in mein Dorf hoch fahre schlägt mein Puls höher vor Freude. Wir haben unsere persönlichen Namen für jeden Straßenabschnitt kreiert. Spätestens wenn ich in "Schottland" angekommen bin fühle ich mich wieder richtig gut und zufrieden. Es riecht nach Thymian und Zistrosen. Es sieht aus wie in Schottland.Es sah so aus.Jetzt ist alles abgebrannt, ich weiß nicht, wie lange es dauern wird, bis der Thymian wieder blüht.Ach mein geliebtes "Schottland", letztes Jahr hätte ich mir so eine Verwüstung nicht vorstellen können.Ein paar Kurven vor Schottland haben Uli und Gabi sich in Jahrelanger Eingenarbeit ein kleines Haus gebaut, ganz abgelegen, mit wunderbarer Aussicht auf Paleohora von oben.Das Feuer war schon an ihrem Haus, da haben die heldenhaften Bewohner von Asfendiles es geschafft unter Einsatz ihrer ganzen Kräfte das Haus und die selbst gepflanzten Pinien, vor dem Feuer zu retten.Jedes Mal, wenn ich dort vorbei fahre, denke ich daran, was für ein heldenhafter Einsatz der Dorfbewohner von Atugirez das wohl gewesen sein muss. Sicher war es auch lebensgefährlich, denn der Wind hat sich dauernd gedreht und das Feuer in alle Richtungen getrieben.Es gab viele Wunder an diesem Tag und in der Nacht der Feuersbrunst. Und es gab heldenhafte Einsätze. Γνωρίζω κάθε στροφή του δρόμου που οδηγεί στο Asfendiles. Κάθε φορά που ταξιδεύω από τη Γερμανία στο χωριό μου, η καρδιά μου χτυπά πιο γρήγορα από χαρά. Έχουμε δώσει τα δικά μας ονόματα σε κάθε τμήμα του δρόμου. Το αργότερο όταν φτάνω στη «Σκωτία», νιώθω πάλι πολύ καλά και ικανοποιημένος. Μυρίζει θυμάρι και κίστρο. Σίγουρα ήταν και επικίνδυνη για τη ζωή τους, γιατί ο άνεμος άλλαζε συνεχώς κατεύθυνση και έσπρωχνε τη φωτιά προς όλες τις κατευθύνσεις.Υπήρξαν πολλά θαύματα εκείνη την ημέρα και τη νύχτα της πυρκαγιάς. Και υπήρξαν ηρωικές προσπάθειες. Liebe Freunde der kretischen Natur, der seltenen endemischen Pflanzenwelt und der wilden Bergkräuter, liebe Spenderinnen, lieber Spender,Nektarios lebt in Asfendiles. Der verheerende Brand am 26. Juli 2025 zerstörte die gesamte Natur des Dorfes, und er wäre beinahe selbst verbrannt (er schlief und roch den Rauch erst, als die Flammen vor seinem Haus standen)Bei seinem Versuch, sich mit seinem Auto (das bereits in Flammen stand) in Sicherheit zu bringen, erlitt er schwere Verbrennungen zweiten Grades.Das wenige Geld, das er bei sich hatte, fiel ihm in seiner Panik aus der Tasche und verbrannte. Sein Vermögen in Form von Olivenbäumen verbrannte ebenfalls. Sein Kräutergarten, der ihm ein kleines Einkommen verschaffte, ist jetzt eine Wüste.Glücklicherweise schickte ihm sein Schutzengel zwei mutige Menschen (George aus dem Café in Azogyres und Michalis von Pin up Nails), die ihn in allerletzter Sekunde von der Straße retteten, als seine Kräfte schon nachließen, nachdem er sein inzwischen vollständig brennendes Auto verlassen hatte. Eine Flucht zu Fuß war da schon längst nicht mehr möglich. Das Flammeninferno, angetrieben von heftigen Winden, hatten ihn schon erreicht.Damit Nektarios nach Hause zurückkehren und sein normales Leben wieder aufnehmen kann, braucht er neben der Bewältigung seines psychischen Traumas auch unsere finanzielle Unterstützung.Um in sein zum Glück nur aussen verwüstetes Haus zurückkehren zu können, und um wieder arbeiten zu können, die verbrannten Wassertanks zu ersetzen, den Kräutergarten neu anzulegen, braucht er ein Auto. Unser Dorf liegt 700m hoch in den Bergen und ist nur mit Auto erreichbar.Ich habe Euch viel, vielleicht zu viel, von unsreren langsam wieder genesenden Katzen berichtet. Unser Freund Nektarios musste erst seinen Schock überwinden, bervor ich mich jetzt mit seinem Schicksal und seiner traurigen Geschichte an Euch wenden darf.Selbst der kleinste Geldbetrag ist in dieser Situation sehr wichtig. Η περιουσία του, που συνίστατο σε ελαιόδεντρα, κάηκε επίσης. Ο βοτανικός κήπος του, που του εξασφάλιζε ένα μικρό εισόδημα, είναι τώρα μια έρημος.Ευτυχώς, ο φύλακας άγγελός του έστειλε δύο γενναίους ανθρώπους (τον Γιώργο από το καφέ στην Αζογύρη και τον Μιχάλη από το Pin up Nails), οι οποίοι τον έσωσαν την τελευταία στιγμή από το δρόμο, όταν οι δυνάμεις του είχαν ήδη εξαντληθεί, αφού είχε εγκαταλείψει το αυτοκίνητό του, το οποίο είχε πια καεί ολοσχερώς. Liebe Freund*innen und Unterstützer*innen dieser Kampagne,seit ein paar Tagen bin ich wieder zurück in München.Ich habe hier ein Geschäft und muss arbeiten, obwohl meine Gedanken immer noch bei den Nöten und Hoffnungen meines geliebten Dorfes auf Kreta sind.Als das Feuer ausbrach, habe ich mich Hals über Kopf entschlossen hin zu fliegen und zu helfen. Ich habe mein Geschäft geschlossen und bin in die verbrannte Landschaft zurückgekehrt. Es roch bei meiner Ankunft strak nach Feuer und Verwesung. Ausser mir war niemand mehr im Dorf, keiner wollte zurückkehren, alle waren traumatisiert.Ich hingegen habe den Alptraum nur aus der Ferne miterlebt und bin im Dorf geblieben, ohne Wasser, ohne Strom, kein Telefon, kein Internet, dazu der Geruch der Verwesung, die Asche überall, der traurige Anblick der bis tief ins Erdreich verbrannten uralten Olivenbäume.Dann startete Eure Hilfe, Eure spontane Unterstützung, diese wahnsinnige Spendenbereitschaft! Meine Freunde aus dem Dorf haben es erst gar nicht geglaubt, dann haben sie die Fortschritte auf goodcrowd.org täglich mitverfolgt. Εκτός από μένα, δεν ήταν κανείς στο χωριό, κανείς δεν ήθελε να επιστρέψει, όλοι ήταν τραυματισμένοι.Εγώ, από την άλλη πλευρά, έζησα τον εφιάλτη μόνο από μακριά και έμεινα στο χωριό, χωρίς νερό, χωρίς ρεύμα, χωρίς τηλέφωνο, χωρίς ίντερνετ, με τη μυρωδιά της αποσύνθεσης, την τέφρα παντού, τη θλιβερή θέα των αρχαίων ελαιόδεντρων που είχαν καεί μέχρι τα βάθη του εδάφους.Τότε ξεκίνησε η βοήθειά σας, η αυθόρμητη υποστήριξή σας, αυτή η τρελή προθυμία για δωρεές! Οι φίλοι μου από το χωριό δεν το πίστευαν στην αρχή, αλλά μετά παρακολουθούσαν καθημερινά την πρόοδο στο goodcrowd.org. Liebe Spenderinnen und Spender, liebe Freunde, alle denen unser kleines verwüstetes Bergdorf am Herzen liegt,das Feuer hätte alle umliegenden Dörfer treffen können, besonders Anidri und Azugires, wo viele Ausländer*innen ihre Ferienhäuser besitzen, oder dauerhaft nach Kreta ausgewandert sind. Es ist nicht nur ein Wunder, dass sie vom Feuer verschont geblieben sind, sonder es ist dem unglaublich wagemutigen und heldenhaften Einsatz der Männer in den Dörfern geschuldet, dass sie das Schlimmste verhindern konnten. Wenn man, wie viele Betroffene, die Bedrohung durch diese Feuersbrunst bei ständig wechselnden staken Winden miterleben musste, dann kann man den übermenschlichen Einsatz der Feuerwehr und der zivilen Helfer nur als Heldentat bezeichnen.An dieser Stelle möchte ich mich ganz persönlich bei all diesen Helden bedanken. Es ist ihnen gelungen, alle Häuser zu retten. Mit Eurer Spendenhilfe werden wir, falls die Gemeinde nichts tut, vor dem ersten Regen das Dach des Kirchenanbaus in Asfendiles reparieren.Am 26. September ist wie jedes Jahr in der Dorfkirche von Asfendiles das große Fest-das Panagiri, zu Ehren des Heiligen der Kirche. Ich möchte nach der Messe in der Kirche von Asfenmdiles (Beginn 9:00 Uhr) ein großes Dorfessen ausrichten, mit allen gemeinsam und all den lieben Spender*innen und Kretafreunden, die an unserem Wiederaufbau mitwirken, oder sehen wollen, was wir schon alles geschafft haben. In unserem Dorf-Gemeinschafts-Gästehaus konnten wir inzwischen die ausgebrannte Sickergrube wieder aufbauen, dieses mal betoniert und so ist die Toilette auch wieder benutzbar. Heute wird ein neues Wasserrohr zum neu renovierten Schuppen gelegt, und eine neue Waschmaschine installiert. Ich werde im Dorf und drum herum noch mal einen Spendenaufruf starten, damit uns alle ihr überschüssiges Geschirr und Besteck bringen, damit wir umweltschonend und nicht mit Plastiktellern unsere Dorffeste und unsere Heiligen feiern können. After the mass in the church of Asfenmdiles (starting at 9:00 a.m.), I would like to organise a large village meal with everyone and all the dear donors and friends of Crete who are involved in our reconstruction or want to see what we have already achieved. In our village community guest house, we have now been able to rebuild the burnt-out septic tank, this time with concrete, so the toilet is usable again. Today, a new water pipe will be laid to the newly renovated shed and a new washing machine will be installed. I will launch another appeal for donations in and around the village, asking everyone to bring us their surplus crockery and cutlery so that we can celebrate our village festivals and saints in an environmentally friendly way and not with plastic plates. So here is your invitation to 26 September 2025, when we will celebrate our resurrection from the ashes and thank you all with food and drink.Warm regards, LydiaΑγαπητοί δωρητές, αγαπητοί φίλοι, όλοι όσοι νοιάζεστε για το μικρό μας κατεστραμμένο ορεινό χωριό,η φωτιά θα μπορούσε να είχε πλήξει όλα τα γύρω χωριά, ειδικά το Ανίδρι και το Αζουγκίρες, όπου πολλοί ξένοι έχουν εξοχικές κατοικίες ή έχουν μεταναστεύσει μόνιμα στην Κρήτη. Δεν είναι μόνο θαύμα που γλίτωσαν από τη φωτιά, αλλά οφείλεται στην απίστευτα τολμηρή και ηρωική προσπάθεια των ανδρών στα χωριά που κατάφεραν να αποτρέψουν το χειρότερο. Όσοι, όπως πολλοί από τους πληγέντες, έζησαν την απειλή αυτής της πυρκαγιάς με συνεχώς μεταβαλλόμενους ισχυρούς ανέμους, μπορούν να χαρακτηρίσουν την υπεράνθρωπη προσπάθεια των πυροσβεστών και των πολιτών ως ηρωική πράξη.Σε αυτό το σημείο, θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω προσωπικά όλους αυτούς τους ήρωες. Κατάφεραν να σώσουν όλα τα σπίτια. Με τη βοήθεια των δωρεών σας, αν η κοινότητα δεν κάνει τίποτα, θα επισκευάσουμε τη στέγη του παραρτήματος της εκκλησίας στο Ασφενδίλη πριν από την πρώτη βροχή.Στις 26 Σεπτεμβρίου, όπως κάθε χρόνο, στην εκκλησία του χωριού Ασφενδίλη θα γίνει η μεγάλη γιορτή, το Παναγύρι, προς τιμήν του αγίου της εκκλησίας. Μετά τη λειτουργία στην εκκλησία του Asfenmdiles (έναρξη στις 9:00), θα ήθελα να διοργανώσω ένα μεγάλο γεύμα για όλο το χωριό, με όλους μαζί και όλους τους αγαπητούς δωρητές και φίλους της Κρήτης που συμβάλλουν στην ανακατασκευή μας ή θέλουν να δουν όλα όσα έχουμε ήδη καταφέρει. Στο κοινοτικό ξενώνα του χωριού μας καταφέραμε να ξαναχτίσουμε την καμένη δεξαμενή αποχέτευσης, αυτή τη φορά με μπετόν, και έτσι η τουαλέτα είναι και πάλι λειτουργική. Σήμερα θα τοποθετηθεί ένας νέος σωλήνας νερού στο ανακαινισμένο υπόστεγο και θα εγκατασταθεί ένα νέο πλυντήριο ρούχων. Θα ξεκινήσω ξανά μια εκστρατεία συγκέντρωσης δωρεών στο χωριό και τη γύρω περιοχή, ώστε όλοι να μας φέρουν τα περιττά πιάτα και μαχαιροπίρουνα τους, για να μπορούμε να γιορτάζουμε τις γιορτές του χωριού μας και τους αγίους μας με τρόπο φιλικό προς το περιβάλλον και χωρίς πλαστικά πιάτα.
