What We Achieved Together in 2024Thanks to your incredible support, 2024 was a year of hope, healing, and new beginnings for so many of our dogs at Street Dogs Mexico.Here’s what we accomplished together:🐶 49 dogs found their forever homes – adopted into loving families in Mexico and abroad, finally getting the second chance they deserve. 💰 €6,499.86 in donations received – that’s $138,251.93 MXN raised to directly support the care, treatment, and wellbeing of our rescue dogs. 💊 39% of all donations were used to purchase life-saving medicine – helping dogs recover from serious illnesses, infections, and even cancer. These treatments made the difference between life and death for many of them.Why Your Donations Matter So MuchIn Mexico, the government provides only the absolute basics: shelter, food, water and sterilization. But that’s not nearly enough.💔 Many of the dogs that arrive at the shelter are severely injured or gravely ill. Ich gebe euch gerne einen kompletten Überblick über die gesammelten Spenden und Ausgaben von Januar bis August 2023: Spendeneinnahmen: - In diesen ersten 8 Monaten des Jahres haben wir bereits 4.755,00 € an Spenden erhalten! Das ist einfach großartig und fantastisch und dafür möchte ich mich sehr bedanken. Ich erhalte mittlerweile auch von regelmäßigen Spendern Spenden direkt über mein Paypal oder auf mein Bankkonto. Daher werdet ihr diese nicht immer unbedingt über diese Seite hier sehen. Natürlich funktioniert betterplace genauso gut und kann weiterhin genutzt werden! Ihr seht also das Geld wird dringend benötigt. Und nun das beste an der ganzen Geschichte: Wir konnten bereits 33 Hunde in ein neues Zuhause vermitteln dieses Jahr und haben über 100 Hunde gerade, um die wir uns kümmern und die wir gesund und adoptionsbereit bekommen wollen. Medicine for the dogs (Otisan, Itracona, Ear clean drops, Frontline against ticks and fleas, vitamines, Stop on against diarrea, Heartguard protection against heartworm, Imidofin against anaplasma, Simparica Trio deworming, Vaccines, Endogard, Nutribound, Siliprotec, Pet Gard, Nobivac, Kadfin, Vitha Tabs, Diroban injections for heart worm treatment, ) TOTAL OF: 2.264,90 € In six months! That is just amazing and we are so grateful for your help. Remember every receipt is posted on Instagram together with many rescue stories of the dogs and how they are doing :) 2. Dog food: TOTAL OF: 167,96 € In order to help street dogs, we bought special food for some dogs to gain weights and we supplied also foster homes with food! 3. Zahnreinigung für Rorro (500 Pesos, ca 23 €) und Verbandswechsel nach seiner OP am Bein (100 Pesos, ca 4,50 €) 3. 1 Sack 20 Kilo Futter für Rorro Marke Exceed und 4 große Kanister Chloro zum Reinigen für das Tierheim (1109,21 Pesos, ca. 50 €). All die Ausgaben und all die Jahre des Sorgens und Bemühens haben sich gelohnt, denn Rorro ist nach 2,5 Jahren endlich adoptiert in den USA und ist im April in seinem neuen Zuhause angekommen. Wir waren fleißig und hatten wieder einige Ausgaben: - Wir kauften Futter und Tütchen mit Fleisch (um die Medikamente den Hunden besser zu geben, 638,48 Pesos ca. 28 Euros) -Sterilisation Sparky bei SOS El Arca (500 Pesos, ca. 22 Euros) Sparky haben wir auf der Strasse aufgelesen. Er war an einen Baum angebunden und hatte sich los gebissen und lief orientierungslos auf der Strasse rum. Er wurde auf Facebook gesucht, was wir schnell rauskriegten. Sparky war nicht sterilisiert also brachten wir ihn direkt in die Klinik bei SOS El Arca, wo er sterilisiert wurde. Seine Besitzer holten ihn dort an und mussten sich erst einmal etwas von uns anhören ;-) Sie bezahlten dann vor Ort seine Impfungen. Wir bezahlten die Sterilisation, aber dafür nun ein Hund mehr sterilisiert dank eurer Hilfe! - Ich habe bei Amazon 3 Ersatzstoffe Größe M bestellt für die Hundebetten, da einige Hunde diese aus Nervösität kaputt gebissen haben (1207,85 Pesos ca 53 Euro) ebenso habe ich drei kleine neue Hundebetten bestellt für die Hunde in der Quarantäne (1823,34 Pesos ca. 79 Euro) - Dann haben wir 100 Röhrchen für die Blutentnahme gekauft und 25 Urintassen, damit die Proben entsprechend entnommen werden können (792,65 Pesos ca. 35 Euro) - In Medikamente haben wir viel investiert: 12 Schachteln Doxiciclina (Antibiotikum, 270 Pesos, ca. 12 Euro), 2 Schachteln Simparica Trio(Desparasitante und auch gegen Herzwurm , 1100 Pesos ca 48 Euro), 3 Schachteln Simparica Normal ohne Herzwurm Schutz (nur Desparasitante normal (411 Pesos, ca 18 Euro), 1 Schachtel Heartguard (nur Schutz gegen Herzwurm 371,85 Pesos, ca 16 €), 25 Tests 4 Snap zusammen mit 3 weiteren Schachteln Heartguard und Omega 3 für Rorros Fell (10923,27 Pesos ca 485 Euro) Ihr seht also wie teuer die Medikamente und Tests sind und das ist das was wir am meisten brauchen und wir erhalten schon super Spezialpreise! - Und für Blanco hatten wir noch eine Blutprobe, einen Ultraschall und Medikamente (Ciprofloxacina) bezahlt bevor er nach Kanada flog, um zu sehen, ob seine Werte normal sind, da er eine OP hatte wo ihm die Milz rausgenommen wurde, die entzündet war. We were busy and had some expenses again: - We bought food and bags of meat (to give the medicine to the dogs better, 638.48 pesos about 28 Euros). -Sterilization Sparky at SOS El Arca (500 pesos, about 22 Euros) We picked up Sparky on the street. He was tied to a tree and had bitten loose and was wandering disoriented on the street. His owners were already looking for him on Facebook, which we quickly found out. Sparky was not spayed so we took him directly to the clinic at SOS El Arca where he was spayed. His owners picked him up there and we gave them a tongue-lashing ;-) They then paid for his vaccinations on the spot. We paid for the sterilization, but for that now one more dog sterilized thanks to your help! - I have ordered 3 replacements size M for the dog beds at Amazon, because some dogs have bitten them out of nervousness (1207,85 Pesos approx. 53 Euro) as well as I have ordered three small new dog beds for the dogs in the quarantine (1823,34 Pesos approx. 79 Euro) - Then we bought 100 tubes for blood collection and 25 urine cups, so that the samples can be taken appropriately (792,65 Pesos ca. 35 Euro) - In medicines we invested a lot: 12 boxes of Doxiciclina (antibiotic, 270 pesos, approx. 12 Euro), 2 boxes Simparica Trio(Desparasitante and also against heartworm, 1100 Pesos ca 48 Euro), 3 boxes Simparica Normal without heartworm protection (only Desparasitante normal (411 Pesos, ca 18 Euro), 1 box Heartguard (only protection against heartworm 371,85 Pesos, ca 16 €), 25 tests 4 Snap together with 3 more boxes Heartguard and Omega 3 for Rorros fur (10923,27 Pesos ca 485 Euro) So you see how expensive the medicines and tests are and this is what we need the most and we already get super special prices! - And for Blanco we had paid for a blood test, ultrasound and medication (Ciprofloxacina) before he flew to Canada to see if his values are normal because he had an operation where they took out his spleen which was inflamed. Hemos estado ocupados y hemos vuelto a tener algunos gastos: - Compramos comida y sobres de carne (para dar mejor la medicina a los perros, 638,48 Pesos aprox. 28 Euros) -Esterilización de Sparky en SOS El Arca (500 pesos, unos 22 euros) Recogimos a Sparky en la calle. Estaba atado a un árbol y se había soltado a mordiscos y vagaba por la calle sin ninguna orientación. Se le buscaba en Facebook, lo que descubrimos rápidamente. Sparky no estaba castrado, así que lo llevamos directamente a la clínica de SOS El Arca, donde lo castraron. Sus dueños lo recogieron allí y primero los tuvimos que regañar ;-) Entonces le pagaron las vacunas en el momento. Das liegt aber nicht daran, weil nichts passiert sondern eher weil es zeitlich schwierig war in den letzten Monaten. Eine große Entschuldigung dafür. Hier nun die News und Ausgaben für euch aufgeführt: 1. Wir konnten zwei Hunde von der Straße retten. Kuma und Bosco lungerten immer am gleichen Ort rum und sind sehr liebe zutrauliche Hunde. Die Nachbarn drohten sie zu vergiften, da zögerten wir nicht und brachten sie zum Tierarzt, fanden ein temporäres Zuhause für sie und nun sind die beiden auch schon zusammen adoptiert worden! Kosten insgesamt: 2160 Pesos, ca 90 € 2. Für unsere liebe Vaquita kauften wir eine Bordatella Impfung (62,70 Pesos, ca 2,65 €) damit sie nach Kanada fliegen konnte, wo sie nun ein neues Leben führt. 3. Für unsere Herzwurm Hunde kauften wir Cimalgex, welches die Schmerzen nach der Injektion lindert (825 Pesos, ca. 35 €). 4. Auch ein Nagelklippser fehlte (300 Pesos, ca 13 €). Die Hunde sind allerdings nicht begeistert davon ;-) 5. Für Rorro und Samy unsere Sarna (Hautkrankheit) Hunde kauften wir Omega 3, spezielles Shampoo und Futter und Foliplex Spray, damit ihr Fell wieder besser wächst nach den Milben (Kosten: 1261 Pesos, ca. 50 €). Samy ist bereits adoptiert und lebt nun in Österreich und Rorro ist in einem temporären Zuhause in Playa del Carmen und hat Chancen in den USA adoptiert zu werden. 6. Wir kauften für unseren TVT Krebs Hund Cantinflas Ondantron - ein Mittel gegen Übelkeit und Erbrechen nach der Chemo (386,93 Pesos, ca 17 €). Cantinflas hat den Krebs überwunden und lebt nun ein tolles Leben in Kanada! 7. Mit Cuca und Mosho (zwei unserer Herzwurm Hunde) waren wir bei einem Herzspezialisten, um einen Ultraschall machen zu lassen nun nach den Injektionen (Kosten 1300 Pesos ca. 57 €). Mosho ist wieder vollkommen gesund. Leider muss nur Cuca noch Clopidogrel nehmen für 3 Monate, um Blutverdickung vorzubeugen (Kosten für das Medikament 427 Pesos, ca 19 €) 8. Und zuletzt noch eine super Neuigkeit: Chaparro, Linda und Pelusa konnten nach Kanada fliegen, wo ihre neuen Familien sie bereits erwarteten. Wir zahlten für Benzin und für die Kabelbinder für die Transportboxen 366 Pesos ca 17 €. Auch diese kleinen Ausgaben sind notwendig, um die Hunde gut und sicher zum Flughafen zu bringen. The neighbors threatened to poison them, so we did not hesitate and took them to the vet, found a temporary home for them and now the two have been adopted together! Aquí están las noticias y los temas para ustedes: 1. pudimos rescatar a dos perros de la calle. Kuma y Bosco siempre estaban en el mismo lugar y son perros muy dulces y confiados. Mosho está completamente sano de nuevo. Desgraciadamente, sólo Cuca tiene que tomar Clopidogrel durante 3 meses para evitar el caogulo de la sangre (coste de 427 pesos, unos 19 euros). 8) Y por último, pero no menos importante, una gran noticia: Chaparro, Linda y Pelusa pudieron volar a Canadá, donde sus nuevas familias ya les estaban esperando. Zunächst setzen ihn seine vorherigen Besitzer am 31.12.19 vor dem Tierheim angebunden aus, dann bekommt er Herzwurm durch einen Mückenstich und nun bricht er sich das Bein, weil er so Angst vor Gewittern hat und aus dem Fenster springt :( Rorro erhielt also die Spritzen gegen Herzwurm. Wir zahlten davon 1500 Pesos (ca. 65 Euro), Röntgenaufnahmen und Urinprobe, da er Blut im Urin hatte (770 Pesos, ca. 33 Euro), Clopidogrel (verhindert Blutgerinsel) und Prednisona (119 Pesos, ca 6 Euro), 3 x Verbandswechsel und Wurmtablette (350 Pesos, ca 17 Euro). Zudem kauften wir Vitamintabletten, damit Rorros Fell nachwächst (er hatte auch noch eine schlimme Hautkrankheit) 502 Pesos ca. 22 Euro - diese haben wir mit Sami geteilt, da auch Sami eine schlimme Hautkranheit hatte! Außerdem haben wir eine tolle Foster Familie für Rorro gefunden, sodass er nicht mehr im Tierheim ist! Wir unterstützten sie mit Futter (1263,39 Pesos ca 57 Euro) und Omega 3 als Futterzusatz (371 Pesos ca. 16 Euro) - Wir hoffen nun wirklich, dass Rorros Pechsträhne vorbei ist und er eine tolle neue Familie findet, die ihm eine zweite Chance gibt! 2. Sami: Sami hatte ganz schlimm Krätze ausgelöst durch Milben auf der Haut! Auch für Sami fanden wir eine Foster Familie, denn solch Krankheiten können wir kaum richtig im Tierheim behandeln. Wir zahlten 456 Pesos (ca. 20 Euro) für Samis Futter und 849,50 Pesos (ca. 38 Euro) für spezielle Cremes für Samis Haut. Er sieht schon sooo viel besser aus :) 3. Jicamon: Sehr traurig sind wir denn unser lieber vierpfotiger Freund Jicamon ist gestorben :( Er starb an Nierenversagen. Wir versuchten noch mit dem teuren Medikament Ipakitine (970 Pesos ca. 44 Euro) den Phospor Spiegel zu senken, aber leider zu spät :( Jicamon verstarb einige Tage später. Wir sind erschüttert und froh zugleich, dass er nicht lange leiden musste. 4. Ausserdem kauften wir 4 Packungen Heartguard zum Schutz vor Herzwurm für die Hunde im Tierheim für den Monat Oktober und November (1487,40 Pesos ca. 62 Euro). Pagamos 1500 pesos (aprox. 65 euros), radiografías y análisis de orina porque tenía sangre en la orina (770 pesos, aprox. 33 euros), Clopidogrel (previene los coágulos de sangre) y Prednisona (119 pesos, aprox. 6 euros), 3 cambios de vendaje y pastillas antiparasitarias (350 pesos, aprox. 17 euros). También compramos pastillas de vitaminas para ayudar a que el pelaje de Rorro crezca (también tenía una mala enfermedad de la piel) 502 Pesos, aprox. 22 Euros - los compartimos con Sami, ¡ya que Sami también tenía una mala enfermedad de la piel! También hemos encontrado una estupenda familia de acogida para Rorro, así que ya no está en el refugio. Les apoyamos con comida (1263,39 pesos, unos 57 euros) y con Omega 3 como complemento alimenticio (371 pesos, unos 16 euros). - ¡Esperamos de verdad que la mala suerte de Rorro se acabe y que encuentre una nueva familia estupenda que le dé una segunda oportunidad! 2. Sami: ¡Sami tenía un caso muy grave de sarna causada por ácaros en su piel! También hemos encontrado una familia de acogida para Sami, ya que en el refugio apenas podemos tratar estas enfermedades adecuadamente. Pagamos 456 pesos (aprox. 20 euros) por la comida de Sami y 849,50 pesos (aprox. 38 euros) por cremas especiales para la piel de Sami. Ya se ve muchhoo mejor :) 3. Wir konnten mal wieder viel Gutes tun und hier kommt wie immer die Auflistung für euch: 1. Wir konnten 13 Hunden Blut abnehmen und 12 kleine Blutbilder und 1 großes Blutbild anfordern (1800 Pesos, ca. 77 Euro). Damit konnten wir den Neuankömmlingen bereits die notwendigen Medikamente geben, damit sie schnell wieder gesund werden! 2. Unsere sehr dünnen Hunde bekommen weiterhin spezielles Futter (Exceed), damit sie schneller zunehmen. Wir kauften 2 große Tüten je 20 Kilo (1918 Pesos, ca 85 Euro). 3. Medikamente: Wir brauchen jeden Monat eine Tablette für jeden Hund, um ihn vor den Mückenstichen zu schützen und natürlich vor Zecken und Milben. Daher kauften wir 4 Packungen Heartguard (1.487,40 Pesos ca. 64 Euro), 1 Packung Simparica Trio (490 Pesos, ca 21 Euro) und 10 Packungen Doxiciclina, ein Antibiotikum, und 1 Packung Prednisona (270 Pesos, ca 12 Euro) für die Hunde, die Erliquia, Anaplasma oder andere Erkrankungen haben. 4. Leider sind zwei Gittertüren gebrochen, weil sie schon so verrostet waren! Der Schmied hat tolle Arbeit geleistet und uns zwei neue, rostfreie Gittertüren gemacht (11.200,00 Pesos ca 490 Euro) - teure Geschichte, aber zumindest kann das Tierheim jetzt wieder zwei Hunde mehr von der Strasse holen!
